Ick
Why do college students throw away stuff that is in perfect condition? Just because you are moving out and are going to get all new stuff from mommy and daddy does not make your hardly used old stuff worthless trash. It is illegal to dumpster dive in Clarke county...which is fine by me...however...many homeless people or even people who are not wasteful could use that stuff. I saw a brand new sheet set in the dumpster the other day. It was still in the original packaging. Why don't you get your head out of your gold encrusted a**hole and donate some of your gently or never used things to a shelter or Goodwill store. Some people would love to have brand new sheets or some nice furniture. Please think of others, if even for two seconds.

No Mess Downtown
I'd like to thank everyone who cleaned up downtown.
It's the day after New Years and I didn't have to dodge puddles of piss and vomit on my way to work. Even the pre-existing puddle of vomit in front of the entrance to the building was gone.
I was sure walking (or even breathing) downtown was going to be impossible today. Thank you for making sure that wasn't the case!

Passing in the TURN LANE
What the f? I work in an office off of Commerce Road and the entrance to my office is about 100 yards over a hill near the loop. In that area there is a turn lane in the middle of the road. Drivers out here seem to think it is okay to pass me in the turn lane when I turn right out of my office... despite the fact that they were not even over the hill when I turned. Where are the cops who should be enforcing the no-passing rule? Where are the cops who should be enforcing the NO SPEEDING rule? I can't believe drivers could be in such a hurry that they can't slow down to the speed limit (55) to come back to Athens.
It scares me every time it happens to me or the car in front of me, because one of these days someone is going to get in the turn lane to turn, and they're going to get plowed by this crazy driver! Maybe the cops will keep a better eye out then...

Oh how I hate Charter Communications
They f-ing suck. I have somehow acquired a mysterious 92 dollar "past due" balance on my bill. I have paid my bill IN FULL every month. Now I have to go through all this crap to get it removed when THEY made the f-ing mistake. BURN IN HELL CHARTER! I'm getting DirecTV.
12/29/2008 - Yep,. I got tired of being hit with late fees and past due amounts because they credited somebody else's account with my payments. I would spend all of my time proving that I had paid and then they would be totally snotty about taking off the late fees.
I LOVE my Direct TV! If you have Charter, you're next on their list to get screwed.

I left Charter too when they raised their rates. Be prepared to have to prove, multiple times, that you don't have any of their equipment as well. I had to call several times to tell them that I NEVER had a modem from them and even though the person I talked to always said that they fixed the info on my account they actually sent it to collections!

General Beauregard's SUCKS!
I used to frequent this bar a good bit but I have now come to my senses and realized that it sucks. All of the patrons there are mindless sheep who all wear the same clothing & drunkenly sing along to the same five country songs over and over. Their specialty drink "Dixieland Sweet Tea" tastes like hot wet regurgitation. Their staff act like they have sticks up their asses and I've actually heard through the grapevine that a couple of them are abusive and have anger management issues. It's a fine establishment...not.

As far as the employees and the drinks go-I couldn't tell ya, since I haven't been in ages.

Wads of Money
I hate it when people take out a wad of money to pay for something and make you reach and pick it up off the countertop. Especially when they count it out to exact change and just leave it sitting there. Honestly, how hard is it to pick it up and hand it to me after you count it out.
Also, when people reach across into my bubble of a cashwrap and take a pen or a stapeler without asking. They just assume they can use it.

Screw you Flip Flop Station and Georgia Square Mall
Dear Flip Flop Station owner,
Thank you for convincing my mom to pre-order my new rainbows while you were out of stock and pay for them, so that I could pick them up three weeks later. OH WAIT--YOU CLOSED YOUR STORE AND DISAPPEARED three days before I could pick them up. Oh and I couldn't dispute the charge with Bank of America because you had incorrect contact information in all your receipts and stuff. NOT TO MENTION the Georgia Square Mall office never would return my numerous phone calls regarding the matter and the BBB couldn't dispute the claim because its a franchise. And leasing man at the mall told me he couldn't give Bank of America the information about the person that leased the store. I HOPE you come back this summer Flip Flop Station. I still have my receipt and plan to raise hell for my $56 or flip flops. Crooks.

12/22/2008 - 1) Your mom should be disputing the charge if she's the one who paid. Escalate the issue to someone higher up at the bank. If she paid with a credit card she should be able to do a chargeback.

Mall rats
You know what really grinds my gears? When people nearly run you down at the GA square mall to get into the closest available parking space. Also, when they park in the expectant mother space and a man gets out with no lady with him. B#$t@%!

I took my little sister shopping on black Friday... not in the Athens mall, but one of the kiosk guys selling some nail and hand smoother grabbed me by my hand as I walked by... and then didn't seem to understand that I was NOT going to spend $70 bucks on his bs product. He even tried to sell my two for $70. And was like "your mother will love it!" And when I told him she wouldn't because she hates primping like that, he told me I obviously didn't know my mother. It made me SOOOO mad. And he was a white guy with dreads that smelled bad, and had bad breathe. Not to mention he grabbed me by my hand and jerked me over to him... while his coworkers just watched. I wanted to call security it was so irritating.12/21/2008 - Um, I have to say that the 'expectant mother' spaces are bs anyway. Good job, man with no woman with him. As far as I can see, women choose to get pregnant, then choose to go to the mall. I know I'm going to get castrated for saying this, but there really is no difference between an 'expectant mother' space and a 'I just ran 12 miles and my legs are tired' space or a 'my musculature has deteriorated after years of laziness and overeating' space. It's not like a handicap space where they didn't (necessarily) choose their condition.
That aside, I'd rather park farther out and not have to worry about it. The walk won't kill me.

I was at the horrible horrible depressing Discover mills, and some Nordic girl walks up to me and asks me if I'm married. I say no, and she asks to see my hands. I reveal them, and she grabs them and starts pulling me towards some creepy lotion booth. I, being a guy who loathes 'lotion' and 'pampering myself after a tough day with aromatherapy and a good foot loofa-ing' immediately withdrew my hands said no thanks and quickly walked off. I can't stand that junk!
The worst is the losers with the toy helicopters. How can you feel ok with yourself trying to trick people all day, not to mention acting like a total sleaze, and I saw some girls face almost get taken off at Mall of Georgia the other day! I know people gotta work, but those aren't real jobs. They just leech!

JERKS!!!01/02/2009 - I had to rent a car to get out of town for Christmas and the regular lights on the car didn't work. It was either drive with no lights on or use the high beams. (I even had someone else check it out.)
I spent a whole week being that jerk with the brights on. :(
I'll definitely check the headlights before leaving the renal place next time.
