Hell yes.
apparently Officers must write tickets for infractions of 15mph over the limit (it was 55, I was apparently going 74- its easy for your car to get away from you there, long single lane roads)

I may have been in the wrong, but I am livid, and cannot afford this.
(go ahead with the ''you shouldn''t have been speeding advice, it will almost fall on deaf ears. I was driving maybe 5mph faster than other drivers. I realize the stupidity, I''m just pissed, especially since I''ve been pulled over there before for DRIVING TOO SLOW, and accused of drug use, which of course was totally unfounded.)

I HATE middle Georgia!

To My Friend on The Elevator

I said, "Excuse me." I had to get off at that floor. You* stared, and did not move.

I thought maybe you had not heard me. I repeated myself, hoping this time you would kindly move out of the way.

You did not.

So don''t look surprised and outrageously offended when I have to physically PUSH YOU out of the way to get off the elevator and to my class. You KEEP asking me for help. But you ignore everything I say.

If you just wanted to complain about a problem, that''s cool. We all need to vent sometimes (hence this site) but you ask for HELP. That implies that you actually want me to provide some input on how to solve the problem. So why do you talk over my suggestions?

On the flip side, why can''t I get an answer to the question I asked? At best I get a response vaguely related to the topic but doesn''t address the question. At worst I''m completely ignored.

Is it me? Should I give up on communicating with people altogether?

*You refers to more than one person.

Skank

Can you ladies PLEASE stop dressing like tramps? It is not 80-90 degrees outside anymore (not that the temperature is an excuse to put your cha-cha on display....) So please..please stop showing every man, woman, and child your mammaries, your tramp stamp, and your desperation. And before anyone makes comments about jealousy (cuz I know it''ll be done...) I''m a male. And straight. But sadly enough, Im getting down right sick of hos. Driving the speed limit is courteous. I often drive over the limit, but I can''t ask anyone else to do that. However, going the limit, especially on Georgia''s windy two-lane roads, is the least you can do for the many other drivers who have places to be lining up behind you.

2. If you are going under the limit, use the right lane. It doesn''t make any sense to have the fast drivers snaking around you, or driving in the right lane where slower drivers are entering the road. If you''re not passing anyone or making a left turn within like half a mile, get in the right lane.

3. A corollary to (2) is don''t pace people. That means if you are passing, don''t take 20 miles to do it. Speed up a little for the pass instead of blocking both lanes. If you''re not passing someone, um, why are you driving the same speed right next to them? You''re frustrating everyone behind you and increasing the chances of an accident (by increasing vehicle density).

4. Why do Georgia drivers speed up WHEN someone is passing them? I can''t count the number of times I''ve been riding someone''s a** going 58 only to have to get up to 75 to finally get past them because they speed up when they see me passing. If anything, slow down to let the guy by.

5. If you''re about to miss your turn, STOPPING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AND THROWING ON YOUR TURN SIGNAL IS NOT AN OPTION. Go to the next turn around point (it''s not far, trust me). Again, something I''ve only seen in Georgia.

6. Right of way: learn the rules.

I can say this for GA drivers: when they''re bad, they''re not mean or aggressive. Basically, they''re clueless.

Anti-Obama camp

Those of you with facebook especially have likely seen tons of this. My personal favorite is ''time to move to Canada,'' a country with universal health care and more gun control.
It is also annoying to see the Pro-Obama crowd rubbing it in to other peoples faces-we don''t need that either!
It is extremely annoying to see how many people that will likely benefit from President Obama''s tax plans complain about wealth redistribution.
That being said, I was in High School for the 2000 election, so I don''t remember all the backlash on the liberal side, although I imagine it was almost equally bad, but it was also a different situation (the ''stolen election'') so I think that may be justified.
I think it is very classless to be so hateful of a Candidate who promises to get things done, before he even has had the chance.
My utmost respect however, goes to McCain himself, for such a gracious concessionary speech, and his supporters whom are accepting their loss, and supporting our new president. This is what we need in America, and I am very proud to be an American right now, but I am disappointed in many people''s immature and polarizing reactions.
With luck, Obama will deliver, and people''s opinions will change. I could understand being this angry were he to promise to illegalize church, force Gay marriage on everybody, and take away the right to bear arms, but that is not the reality whatsoever. I think hiw administration will be one of good works, and get things done!
Let''s all hope for it!

High Voter Turnout!

http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0781453.html

According to the site above, preliminary info puts the voter turnout at 64.1%! And yet my tax dollars are going to pay Athens LEOs to write tickets for people in our neighborhood who are parked in the driveway because their cars are not pulled all the way to the garage. My roommates have been parking this way for the 5 years that I have owned this house, and now they write my sister a ticket for parking on the sidewalk, along with, from what I saw this morning, about 15 other people in my neighborhood. Is that really the best way to be spending my tax dollars? How many people are going to be walking down the sidewalk in a neighborhood like mine at 3 30 in the morning (when the ticket was written). Seems like a huge crock of chit to me for Athens to generate a little bit of revenue from the lack of home games for UGA this month. You have already run the light, why don''t you just move on through. I am sick of having to walk into oncoming traffic because I have to go around your car stopped in the middle of the crosswalk! It is unsafe for the thousands of pedestrians in Athens AND you are holding up busses that can''t make the turn because you are so far in front of the stop bar. Learn to drive.
Sincerely,
Walker-Biker-BusRider-Driver
PS- the left lane is the passing lane, not the talk on your phone and drive 10 under the speed limit lane, even on 316!
